New DACO System Launches!

Today we announce more exciting changes to the Data Access Compliance Office (DACO) for the International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC).

The ICGC Data Access Compliance Office (ICGC DACO) is pleased to announce on May 16th a new website to manage applications for Access to ICGC Controlled Data was launched. The old website, daco.icgc.org has been retired and users will no longer have access to it. From this day forward all applications for access to Controlled Data will need to be submitted through the new application website.

As many of you are aware, ICGC has evolved into its next phase: ICGC ARGO- Accelerating Research in Genomic Oncology. With this evolution the ICGC DACO will be administered by the University of Glasgow, and the governance of data access will be managed by a new data access agreement.

If you currently have an approved application, you will continue to have access to ICGC Controlled Data until the date of expiry.

There are a few key points for users to consider:

  • If you have a current approved DACO application and your access is due for renewal please start a new application through the new website.  You can copy the information from your old application. Upon approval, a two year access period will start and you will get a new expiry date.
  • If you wish to add or remove collaborators from your current application, you will need to submit a new application with those changes. For urgent removal requests, email daco@icgc-argo.org.
  • You can apply for a new application on the new website even if you have an active version of the application on the old website. This won't affect your access.

If you have any questions please contact the ICGC DACO

We’d also like to direct you to the new DACO documentation site for more details on using the new system, and our DACO Policies and Guidelines to learn more about gaining approval for access to data.
